Alisa Smith Williams is an artist and illustrator currently living in Central Virginia, United States.  The daughter of an accomplished watercolorist, and herself previously a photographer, Alisa works now in digital art.  Her pieces incorporate generative or AI images that are heavily modified with collaging, compositing, overpainting, texturing, and the use of design elements that include her own photography.  Vintage botanical elements are a favorite addition.  Alisa’s work leans toward older art schools, and tends to have a Medieval or Renaissance feel, but it incorporates other schools, such as Flemish and pre-Raphaelite art.  There is also a significant contribution from early 2oth century storybook illustrators like Edmund Dulac, Arthur Rackham, and Kay Nielsen, who were her great favorites in childhood.  Her early fondness for fairytales drives much of what she does, even now.  Often there is a dark overlay to her work, stemming from those tales of evil queens, dark fairies, and ogres lurking in the shadows.
