Old scholar and hard-pressed grandfather, Runic, is waiting for December’s annual meteorite shower. He’s certain he’s done his calculations right and knows just where the best display will appear. So intent is he that he even refuses to be distracted by his grandchildren’s mounting excitement, and sits and waits for the stars to fall. Perhaps he should have listened to them after all. . .
